Once again, we set out on a road trip. This time to Chicago, 760 miles from home. It started out beautifully, but as soon as we hit Tennessee, it started pouring rain and it really never stopped until we got to Chicago. On the way we saw some beautiful fall foliage, a cloud that looked just like a shark and some clouds that looked like waves. Pretty scary shark, huh.....
Anyways, the kids are good in the car as long as they have their books, music and dvd's.
Going is always a lot more fun that driving home, which just seems so long and tiring, not to mention the fact that we felt like total gypsies dragging the kids into McDonald's still in their pj's. Only to realize that we weren't the only ones doing that:)
Thanksgiving was......like it always is. Too many people in one little house, too much food, nothing homecooked and total mayhem trying to keep track of all the kids.
Back home, the washer is now doing the 8th load of laundry.......
I did get to go shopping on Black Friday which started at midnight. Joel, Beth and I went to the outlets at midnight to stock up on some christmas presents. Got back at 2.30 a.m. and went to sleep only to wake up to do some more shopping:)
We did go to see Great Grandpa who is living in a nursing home. He can't talk anymore, so he is just making strange noises. It is all very sad to see and also a bit scary for the kids, but you can't hide life, even from the little ones.
The kids had a blast with their cousins, they learned how to play 5 card draw poker........why a 3-year-old knows this is beyond me, but hey, we all have priorities.
All in all a nice trip, but also very nice to be back home.
