unless a movie made millions of dollars, was mind-numbingly (is that a word) stupid, or played in the movie theaters for at least 6 months, then it is, to some people, not worth watching and must be bad?
I watched The Kite Runner and loved it. Every second of it. Fantastic movie. Was it as good as the book? That depends on your imagination. I didn't love the book. Don't get me wrong, I liked it a lot, but I didn't think it was as fantastic as the rest of the world. Did the movie do the book justice? Probably not, but it was a beautiful movie.
I mentioned to some people that I had seen the movie.
"It was only in the theaters for 4 weeks, it must have been really bad"
"did you get it "on demand" (where movies can be gotten if they're not that great)
Seriously, what kind of comments are those?
Heaven forbid, we should think about the real reason why the movie did so poorly in this country.........it has subtitles and Americans don't really like reading movies. Why? Because it could expand their world and they might learn something about a different culture? Or is it because they don't see the value of having a movie in its original language, because it wouldn't look strange at all if 2 Afghan boys spoke English.....................
I pray for these people, I really do.

Hey Katrine,
