This past weekend Joel and I got to go away for our anniversary weekend. 11 years down, many many more to go:)
We stayed at The Ridges by Lake Chatuge in the mountains of North Georgia. The golf course itself was located just across the border in North Carolina. The course was beautiful and very hard. We had lots of good laughs, lost many many balls and had quite a few good drives.
We drove up Friday night after dropping the kids off with Jette, thanks Jette:)
We drove and drove and drove. We drove up Blood Mountain and down Blood Mountain. At one point we stopped to ask for directions and the woman in the gas station had one (1) tooth!! Didn't understand much of what she was saying, but we did find our way eventually. We just had to find Booger Hollow Road............
Driving up North is alittle scary. You do feel like you're entering Deliverance and you could be shot at any time. Confederate flags are everywhere and there's a lot of trailers. I bet you if that dude from America's Most Wanted took a trip up there, he would strike gold. Joel and I agreed that you would have to be born up there in order to choose to live there.
On the way up we took a awrong turn (surprise surprise), but we did find a quaint restaurant to have dinner at. It's called the Oar House, which I think is a strange name as it sounds like whore house, but the food was good and the atmosphere was.....well, a lot of fake flowers, baskets, candles and other knick knacks.
