Back home from another road trip. I don't know why I always think it's a good idea to drive instead of lying.................it's not. This time we went all the way to Wisconsin, first to Wisconsin Dells and then on to a very small town 1/2 hour east of Green Bay.
The Wisconsin Dells is about the cheesiest (no pun intended) place I have ever been to. It's a bunch of water parks and hotels. The place we were in gave us access to 4 water parks. The water parks were fun and the kids had a great time. We saw more ill-fitting swimsuits, nasty tattoos, chain-smoking people barely floating in inner tubes on lazy rivers than ever before. Yes, it was a lot worse than tubing in Helen for those of you who have been there.
There is just something sad about it when people have to lift up their back fat to show off a tattoo. Not pretty.
Anyways, it was nice to see the whole family and the kids had a blast.
Oh, every single lifeguard was Japanese and every waiter came from Eastern Europe!! Maybe there's an exchange program or something. Last morning in a restaurant a man walks up the clearly not Spanish, Hi-Spanic waiter and says, "Senor, I'm looking for my telefono." Oh yes, he surely did. How embarrassing is that!!!
Then we went on to visit Kirsten's pen pal. It was so much fun to see the two girls together, they had a blast and I am fairly certain that they will visit each other again at some point.
940 miles later we were back home and happy to see Rufus:) And the cats who follow us around and just wants to be held. So cute.
