Love Me Tonight...

is a song by a Danish group that was popular in the 80's. I often listen to it while I work out and today I was thinking about the way that particular song makes me feel. I vividly remember the people I hung out with, what we were doing, the season, what we wore etc. And then I wonder if that's normal to remember all these things from a song or is it just something I hold on to from my Denmark life. Most of my life is divided into before and after USA. I cling to the memories before and I realize how important it is to keep in touch with people, especially when you are the one leaving. The ones left behind rarely feel left behind. They just get on with their lives and maybe those childhood memories aren't as important because they still live there and can still see the things or even relive it through their own children. I know my children will never go to the same places I went to as a child and maybe that's why I cling to those memories.
I hardly have any memories connected to songs from the after period. Well, that's not entirely true. Every time I hear "Do you know the way to San Jose" I want to smack somebody as it was the song they were playing in the car on the way to the hospital to give birth to Lucas. I hate that song. With a passion. And I am not a fan of "Baby hit me one more time" as it reminds me of being pregnant with Kirsten and wanting to throw up at all times. I still get that gagging feeling when I hear that song.
Anyways, whenever I hear a song from before USA I immediately play back a film in my head and relive the moment. Anyone else do that? Even if you don't just lie to me and say you do. Then I won't feel so.......crazy.
