- One broken cruise ship : The cruise ship's engine went out and it turns out they have been sailing on 1 engine for years.
- No towel service: Hotel had no towel service by the pool, if we wanted dry towels we had to leave them for the maid which then meant you couldn't be at the pool because you didn't have a towel...........
- Flying trapeze lessons: I tried twice and failed both times, but it was fun, windy and I'd like to think dangerous.
- Kayaking: Joel and Kirsten went kayaking and Kirsten kept saying how nervous she was as Lucas had told her all about the Titanic.
- Pina Coladas loaded with Amaretto: Liquid marzipan. Yum.
- Lots of Pina Coladas loaded with Amaretto: Happy Kat.
- Beautiful beaches: Fortune Beach was pretty, but Golden Rock beach was amazing.
- Rude people: I have been to the Bahamas before, but have never encountered so many rude people before.
- Easily spotted French people: Only 12-year-old French girls wear Sisley shirts and Burberry bikini's.
- Sunburn: I like to call it "base color"
- Conch Fritters: What kind of Bahamian resort doesn't offer conch fritters as a snack??
- Spring breakers: A bundh of 18-year-olds from Marietta. They were drunk most of the day and at night they dressed up like 40-year-olds. So sad.
- Card games: Endless games of Rage, great game.
- Books: Read 3, one of them a Danish one that was so good and really should be translated into English.
- More Pina Coladas: No comments.
- Surf Board: Joel found a windsurfing board on Golden Rock Beach and we took turns pretending to be surfing.
- Caves: The caves at Lucayan National Park were cool and they led us to the beach.
- Good food: Of all the resorts we've been to, the food at this one was the best.
- Forced off the Island: Cruise ship still broken and we were told to take the next chartered flight off the island or we would be stranded. 2 days of vacation lost. Bummer.
- Hollywood Beach: Couldn't find a hotel, but saw the most amazing moon rising.
- Pompano Beach: Spent the day at the windy beach before heading back to ATL.
All in all a good trip, but we did lose 2 days of vacation plus we had one cloudy day while we there, so my tan is nowhere where it should be.
My children are such a joy to travel with. They don't fight, they eat healthy, they are active, they ask fantastic questions and are interested in learning.
Lucas," Mom, want me to teach you about E=MC square?"
Lucas, "Dad, are you going to enter The Hot Body contest?"
Happy Easter, Happy Passover.
And I swear I will never ever book another trip again. Every single time something goes wrong.
