...................

I didn't even know what to call this post as I am still baffled and feel old and feel like I have in this country too long, which in this case, is a good thing....I think......

My friend Marianne was kind enough to send me a bunch of Danish magazines for my birthday. She knows I love reading the Danish magazines, looking at the fashion, the home goods and just feeling a bit of the culture.

Well, this time there was a magazine called "Q" and I must say it is a magazine that can easily be described as soft porn, and no, you know who you are, you can't borrow it.

One of the articles was about how one shaves/waxes her va-jay jay, as Oprah would have called it.
I turn the page, see 6 naked women showing off their stuff, and dumbfounded I very quickly closed the magazine, looked around to make sure the kids weren't there, took a deep breath and then opened it again.
There it was.....
In America we are so used to seeing perfect (surgically altered) bodies in various magazines. Not so in this one. 6 women, 5 with no boobs and one with very crooked, large, odd-colored nipples.
The article then explains why each woman chose to shave/wax the way they did and where one can buy the various instruments used for this.
One woman had a little heart sculpted and the article then showed a cookie cutter/stamp heart shaped thingie one could use as a pattern..........

And I am thinking what 18-year-0ld chooses to do this for her entire family to see? I know she is, technically, an adult, but I think I would have a heart attack if my daughter did that.

Now, I am no prude and I am not often shocked, but I have to admit I felt like the biggest prude looking at this.
I think this is the first time in my American life I have been happy to have lost a bit of that Danish liberal mentality.

And no, you know who you are, you can still not borrow the magazine.

I have absolutely the same experience as you. Once many years ago, I acquainted with the magazine and it was too cross for me. But the magazine is sold so no need to buy it .... but not me and call me prudish, but some things must be kept private.
A good weekend for you.
