Garage Sale

This weekend our neighborhood had a garage sale. We had gathered all our "treasures" and put them out in the driveway with prices attached.
Friday 12 people came by and I made a whopping $22, what a waste of time.
Saturday was way better. Lots of people and I made more money, but what is interesting, are the kind of people who come by.
I had a bunch of toys out that were completely new and unopened. Couldn't sell them if my life depended on it. Some guy asked me if I had stolen them!!! "Yes, I stole them last night and now I am trying to make a quick buck". WTF??? If I had to steal something I think I would steal something other than a $3 Knex set or a set of doll clothes. Seriously.
Today I had a woman who told us she grew up in Chicago, but that she is half Danish, half Filipino. We chatted for a bit, she leaves and a couple walks up. Both of them were half Danish, half American! Very surreal with all those Dan people in the driveway. Get it? "Dan"......half Danish....okay that was a bad one.........
Then there are the hagglers. You ask $10 for something and they want to know if they can have it for $1. No you can't. Maybe $9, but not $1.
Somebody asked me why all my books had different prices on them and I gave them some lame explanation that it was due to the condition of the books. I actually priced them they way I rated them. Good books were worth more than bad ones.
Old man wanted to know if I would take $4 for a big yellow Tonka truck instead of $5 and then he said that he didn't really need another yellow truck and I look up and he is driving a.....big yellow truck!!
It's been interesting. Whatever is left over will go straight on Craigs list for the electronics and everything else will go to charity.
