A Whole Other Story

As mentioned in previous post the move to London requires a separate entry:)
3 days after our wedding we moved to London for business school (Joel went to school, I had a lovely job making tea for old men).
Anyways, the move happened in September and back in March I had said to Joel we should buy our tickets. He wanted to wait and I told him we should buy the tickets now since they were cheap. He still wanted to wait, so I told him he could wait, but I was buying my ticket.
3 months later he mentions that we should buy the tickets to London and I tell him I already bought my ticket!
Of course I got a really good deal on a direct flight to Heathrow and Joel ended up with a very expensive 2 layover flight to Stanstead. He was supposed to get in at the same time as me, but of course his flight was delayed and then he had to take a shuttle bus to Heathrow. Well, his suitcase (which was one of those ginormous (yes, that is a word) duffelbags you can keep unzipping forever depending on how many people you are smuggling) broke in half and all his clothes came out on the luggage belt, piece by piece.
He wasn't very happy when we finally met up. On top of that he was jetlagged and tired and I wanted to go apartment hunting.
We get to the hotel and as Joel is collapsing on the bed I drag him out to look for apartments.
We meet up with a realtor who took us to every imaginable dump in London. After we turn every single place down, the realtor decides to make a stop and tells us he'll be right back. 45 minutes later he comes out from a store with a TV!!! He stopped to buy a TV!!
We thought it was only fair that we stole his A-Z (which is a map and must be pronounced "a to zet" for the right effect).
We ended up moving into a beautiful 5-bedroom apartment along with 4 other people.
Little did we know that England was just the first of 4 countries we would move to without having a place to live, but that a whole other other story...........
