Day 3 in Scotland and it's HOT!!! If this is what summer is like here, then I'm loving it.
Today I looked at two places. The first one I decided to have a look at was purely for entertainment purposes. It was way too expensive, but I had to see it as it was so ugly on-line and the fact that I had nothing else to do....why not.
So it was described as a flat, but it turned out to be an entire town house. It was located on a crescent in a beautiful old old building with a small park across the street. So I walked into a big foyer with a huge winding staircase. To the right of the staircase was a dining room. Red walls and red carpeting!!! Not pretty, but somehow it worked in that particular house.
Kitchen had green carpeting!!! Both those things are wrong, green carpeting and carpeting in a kitchen........yuck.
Upstairs were 3 bedrooms that weren't too bad, but there was also a living room. It had yellow walls and bright blue carpeting. For a moment I was looking around to see where I could buy the meatballs and the assemble it yourself furniture. Total IKEA.
That being said, it was a beautiful property and if it hadn't been as expensive I could have lived with the crayola carpeting.
Then on to the next property. This one was another 3 bedroom flat and it was a flat. You walked right into the livingroom which was tiny. And there was a stripper pole. Well, it wasn't really a stripper pole, but it was a pole in the middle of the living room. Not sure what it was for, it didn't look like it could really hold anything up. Place was nice, but way too small.
Oh, I made 2 friends today. I walked into a cooking school to get a kids summer program and ended up having a chat with the owner and the receptionist. They were so nice and I stayed for a while to chat with them and it was nice to actually talk to someone for real as oppsed to the fake conversations on my phone:)
Checked into getting a phone too, and for some reason the plans for iphones here are super cheap and you get the phone for free. But you need a bank account in order to get a phone and you can't get a bank account if you don't have a permanent address, but we're working on it.
Talked to a bloke in store, well he talked and I nodded. Didn't understand one word!!
Peace out.
