Ice Ice Baby

So as you know we've had quite the beautiful winter weather here in Scoootland. And it is still beautiful, but nearly impossible to get around. Yesterday all bus traffic shut down for a while after the number 2 crashed into the museum.
Joel got stranded in London for an extra night which meant I had an extra night to spread out in the not so King size bed.
Today I naively thought I would spent 5 minutes clearing the snow off the car so I can drive Lucas to judo later on. Not happening.
After chipping away ice for 5 minutes, and we're talking 12 inches of solid ice, I gave up and decided that we instead will spent the entire afternoon on city busses. Let's hope they're running.
The government is advising people to travel with blankets, shovels and flashlights, but I don't think that's meant for those of us on the bus, so I think I'll leave that at home.
When I took el perro out this morning it was a crisp -23 Celcius, thats 9 Fahrenheit and let's just say it was cold. Didn't stop the dog from going absoloutely bonkers in the snow. He just loves it. And for some reason he always chooses to deliver last nights dinner furthest away from the sidewalk as possible, which means I have to trek through the snow in my pj trousers and wellies to scoop it up. What a sight. Good thing I am the only person out at that time.
The windows in the flat are old. So old and single paned that they are frozen on the inside which leads to a small river later on in the day when it melts. So I run from room to room trying to wipe up as much condensation as I can before it becomes necessary to get out the kayak.
Do I miss Atlanta weather? Nope, not one bit. It's so pretty here and it's nice to have an excuse to light the fire (in my case, flick a switch to turn it on) and curl up on the couch with some bad TV.

Jeg bliver helt nostalgisk over at høre om sne og vinter. Selvom det er møg besværligt er det bare hyggeligt på sin egen måde. Og så nyder man når foråret kommer!
