A trip to The Big Windmill

Seriously, Amsterdam is the funnest place ever.
Of course it even funner when you have a good travel partner. One who likes the same stuff you like (markets, stationary, things with lots of drawers etc) and it gets even better when your travel partner has no interest in the same things you have no interest in, such as Van Gogh or as I like to say "Van Gogh-No no", Anne Frank and department stores.
Of course we do differ a little, I for example love (that word doesn't even cover it) French Fries. The real kind. Served in a cone with a little fork. Lots of mayonnaise. It's heaven. Perfect late night snack, breakfast, lunch, dinner, you get it..........
Anyways, never in 4 days have I been more lost! Those canals make it really tricky. The amount of times we walked in circles..............the amount of times we thought we were far away from our hotel only to turn a corner and there it was. I swear the hotel moved.
So much to do in Amsterdam as well.
We walked, we walked and then we walked some more. The first night we even went and had a chinese foot massage to alleviate the pain of walking. It was heaven.
We also took a bike ride to the Dutch country side to visit a cheese farmer and a wooden shoe maker. Actually it was the same guy.
My bike was pink and called Eye Candy. It had a pretty bell and I wanted to bring it home with me.
We saw a windmill, learned about dikes (no, not that kind) and we rode around in a round about and really annoyed some motorists. Fun fun.
Nighttime in Amsterdam is.....interesting. The Red Light District speaks for itself, the sex shops and the people who go into them. We did too, but only to follow an old man to see what he was buying. He opted for a private cabin with a movie.....we went all Fifty Shades of Grey and explored a very pink paddle. And then we left. Without the paddle but with a sore behind.
We went to the Ice bar, totally touristy, but the best glass of beer I have ever had. Ice cold Heineken served in a glass made of ice. You can't beat that.
We went to a coffee shop and had milk shakes and later on french fries.
We looked in people's windows and were amazed and very jealous of the amount of books people had. All the way to the ceiling and sliding ladders to get said books. We found an antique shop where I added to my smurf collection, we went to a 2 minute party in a spectacle shop.....only to take a picture of a stuffed squirrel (not a real one) and we went to a cafe by the flower market and ate pancakes.
When it was time to leave Amsterdam our suitcases refused to cooperate and for a brief moment we thought maybe we should just stay........but reality was calling.
